About The Nature Queen
From Our Family's Apiaries to Our Own Growing Beekeeping Journey
Hello, we're Maria and Vito, founders of The Nature Queen.
Our journey began in 2019 with a simple mission: to bring exceptional raw honey and premium bee products from our family's apiaries in Romania to homes across the UK.
What started as a small family business has grown into something even more special. While we continue to work closely with our family's experienced beekeepers in Romania, we are also proudly building our own apiary in Kent, England—turning a lifelong dream into reality.
Every product we offer reflects our passion for quality, sustainability and respect for the incredible work of honey bees.
Our Romanian Heritage
Beekeeping has been part of my family for generations.
Our family's apiaries are located in the beautiful countryside of southwest Romania, where bees forage among acacia forests, wildflowers, sunflower fields and untouched natural landscapes.
My uncle, Ghitoiu, began beekeeping in 1987 with just two hives. What started as curiosity soon became a lifelong passion, and today he manages thriving apiaries while continuing the traditional methods that have been passed through our family.
Working together allows us to offer authentic Romanian honey that we're proud to place on our own family's table.
Our Journey in Kent
After living in the UK for more than 13 years, we dreamed of becoming beekeepers ourselves.
That dream became reality in 2025, when we established our own apiary in Kent.
Although our Kent colonies are still growing and are not yet producing honey for sale, they are an important part of our future. Every season brings new experience, stronger colonies and another step towards producing our own local honey.
Our vision has always been simple—to combine our family's Romanian beekeeping heritage with our own journey as beekeepers here in England.
We look forward to sharing that journey with our customers for many years to come.
From Hive to Jar
Our honey follows the natural rhythm of the seasons.
In spring, our bees collect delicate nectar from rapeseed flowers giving us such a beautiful creamy Rapeseed Honey follow with flowering acacia trees, producing our light and beautifully mild Acacia Honey.
After the acacia bloom, the colonies move to areas rich in wildflowers, producing our delicious Polyfloral Honey, before travelling to golden sunflower fields during summer.
Towards the end of the season, our bees gather honeydew from forest trees, creating the rich, dark Forest Honey (Honeydew Honey) that many of our customers love.
Every jar is carefully harvested, minimally processed and packed to preserve its natural flavour and character.
